Welcome to Major Options! This web site is an online workbook to help you choose a major at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. By using this Web site, we hope to encourage you to explore the academic majors offered here. We will help you learn how to match your skills, values, and interests with our courses and degree offerings and show you how you can investigate potential career choices.

If you have come to Stockton without a choice of major already selected, you are not alone! National surveys indicate that up to 40% of college freshmen are undecided about a major or career. At Stockton, the "undecided" major is actually our largest major, with some 14% of our student body unsure of their major choice. Many students have listed a major but will change majors several times before making their final decision. For some, it is a matter of gathering more information about fields of study before making a well-reasoned and appropriate choice. The purpose of this Web site is to take you through a series of steps that will help you learn about yourself and the many options available to you.

Using This Workbook

Let's begin. Throughout this online workbook, you'll be asked to answer questions, print out worksheets, and keep everything organized in a portfolio. If you will be faithful to this process, you'll have a written reflection of your discoveries, and notes that you can take with you when you meet face-to-face with your preceptor or advisor.
