John Quinn has been coordinator of the Mathematics and Science Center at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey since 1990. He has taught mathematics and science for 17 years at the secondary and collegiate levels. At Stockton, John has taught a variety of general studies mathematics courses. Over the past three years he has developed a course entitled, "Survey of Mathematics." This course features "real-world" problem solving as applied to various interdisciplinary applications for non-mathematics majors. The course thoroughly integrates computer technology, the internet, and alternative assessments. Finally, he is currently co-authoring a textbook, "Mathematics in Context," with Frank Cerreto. This text is being published by Houghton-Mifflin Publishing.
