STANEK NAMED NJAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK |

Stockton freshman forward Lisa Stanek (Forked River/Msgr. Donovan)
was named the NJAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week yesterday.
Stanek earned the award, her first NJAC weekly honor, by
scoring a career-high nine points in Stockton’s home opener against
Mary Washington on November 21.
Stanek went 2-2 from the field and also drained five free throws for a team-leading nine points in a non-conference loss to eighth-ranked Mary Washington last Tuesday. She also grabbed three rebounds in 16 minutes played off the bench for the Ospreys. Stanek, an All-Ocean Third Team selection for Monsignor Donovan last year, has played in all four games for Stockton thus far. She is averaging 3.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. Stanek has made the most of her opportunities by shooting 6-11 (54.5%) from the field. Stockton will open NJAC play with a game at Ramapo on Wednesday, November 29 at 5:30 pm. |
