Paras Makes Full Recovery From PCL Sprain
Brian
Paras injured his knee during the 2005 season during a game in
early April. The injury occurred while he was pivoting on the
basepath and felt a "pop" in his left knee. He was diagnosed
with a grade 2 posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury. This
injury is very rare in athletics and particularly in baseball.
Brian's injury was managed conservatively with rehab. He completed
rehab with Stockton Athletic Training for the remainder of the
season. "While we were not able to get him back for the 2005
ECAC Playoffs in May, Brian was cleared for full activity as of
July 1, 2005." commented Jon Heck Coordinator of Athletic
Training.
Paras completed the fall baseball season without incident regarding
his knee injury. He has not needed any additional rehab. His biggest
problem this year has been a sprained ankle that occurred outside
of athletics on 1/15/06. So far in the 2006 season with 5 games
played Paras is batting .278 with 4 runs and 2 RBI. The team leaves
for Florida today for spring break and 9 games.
