| Bean and Roake Return from
ACL Injuries
Sam
Bean and Lindsay Roake
injured their ACL's in 2007 just 3 days apart early in the soccer
season. They had their surgeries on the same day 10/10/07. Bean
had a patellar tendon allograft and Roake a patellar tendon autograft.
Bean also had a second surgery in March for a snapping hamstring
complication. Both did rehab at Stockton for these injuries from
September through May. Bean and Roake were also key contributors
for the soccer team in 2006.
Their
hard work has paid off. Bean, a forward, has played in all 17
games and has 6 goals and 1 assist. Roake, a back, has also played
in all 17 games with 2 assists. The team has also had a stellar
season so far with a record of 14-2-1. "Both Sam and Lindsay
were very dedicated in their rehab, and we did a lot of it. We
expect their performance to continue to improve as the season
wears on." commented Jon Heck, Interim Associate Director
of Athletics and Recreation. Both athletes are doing preventive
rehab 3 days per week this fall.
