| 4/1/00- Injury
Ends Tomchik's Season |
| Senior Lacrosse mid fielder,
Brian Tomchik,
fractured his right thumb when slashed during a game against Montclair
University on 3/25/00. Brian came off the field with
an obvious deformity at his proximal phalanx of his thumb.
He was splinted and iced and transported to the Atlantic City Medical
Center on Stockton's Campus. X-rays were taken and he was
diagnosed with a fractured proximal phalanx. They were unable
to reduce the fracture and obtain proper alignment at the emergency
room. Brian elected to return home to Bensalem PA,
and have his orthopedist perform the required surgery on his thumb.
The operation was performed on 3/27/00 and required the placement
of two pins to stabilize the bone. He will be in a thumb/
forearm cast for approximately 4 weeks, before the pins are removed.
Brian also had a season ending injury during the 1999 season when
he suffered a fractured scapula. |
