Another Way Through

In the Spring of 1995, the Literature and Language Senior Seminar went on a field trip to the Van Pelt Library at the University of Pennsylvania. Tom Kinsella, the course instructor, had been a student employee at that library's Rare Book room some years back, and he wanted to introduce the class to some of its wonders.

What you are about to read is not a "history" of that trip. History needs to be a bit more exacting than the following pages have been. But the spirit of the trip has been captured.

There are a few ways through this hypertext. Click here and read a classlist with the work of authors linked to their CoSy identification. Or click below and then click on the NEXT link at the bottom of each page: you plow through the darn thing in a fairly random fashion.
