In 18th-Century England, Henry Fielding was perhaps the most upstart and inventive dramatist of his time. In 1737 he wrote and produced one of his most famous plays: The Historical Register for the Year 1736. This satire and political farce is still a favorite, and although some of the most pointed satire is dated, much still speaks to events in today's society.
