AboutPhilip J Reed, VScManaging editor Philip J Reed, VSc has long studied and is the author of numerous volumes of literary criticism. Among his more famous and highly-regarded works are Why I'm More Handsome Than F. Scott Fitzgerald (1957), Hemingway Ain't Got Nothin' On Me (1963), and 1979's ground-breaking Whatchu Talkin' 'Bout, Salinger?: an intimate study of a man who wishes he could be me. His life and writings have been of significant critical-acclaim, and he broke the heart of legions of young women when he accepted engagement and soon after married perennial rocker, Meatloaf, on the shores of the beautiful Guahuihui islands. Reed was gunned down tragically outside the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City in December of 1980. He is survived by his wife, two dogs, and the rest of the human race.
