About these pages

These numbers of The American Weekly Mercury, colonial Philadelphia's first newspaper, were researched, annotated, coded, and placed on-line by the students of "Introduction to Research in Literature" at Stockton College, Fall 2002 and Spring 2003. Since this was a collaborative project, with each student responsible for setting and annotating about half a page of text, editorial comments range in quality. Read the popups carefully and you will probably be able to tell where one student leaves off and another begins.

These numbers of The American Weekly Mercury were reproduced by permission of Readex, a Division of NewsBank, Inc. If you would like to see their wide-range of products, click on the name above.
