Death of Etarcomol
Ferghus brings Etarcomol with him to Cu Chulainn's camp to secure the bond of single combat at Ailill's request, but as Ferghus had predicted, Etarcomol was too unruly to escape injury.

Single Combat with Connaught Host
The deaths, among others, of Fer Baeth and Loch mac Mofemis. The Morrigan
appears during the battle with Loch and changes shapes in order to defeat
Cu Chulainn.

Cu Chulainn Grows Weary and the Pact is Broken
As Cu Chulainn grows weary of defend-ing all of Ulster single handedly, Maeve breaks the pact of single combat by send-ing six of the Clanna Dedad against him. The Morrigan returns to Cu Chulainn.

Lugh mac Ethlinn and the Death of the Boys' Troop
A Celtic god of the sun arrives and allows Cu Chulainn to sleep for the
first time since the start of the foray. Although Lugh defends Ulster while
Cu Chulainn slept, something un- speakable happens. Cu Chulainn's first
Riasthra, or rage comes over him.
