Sort of a Mission Statement

These pages were created, in their original form, sometime in October 1994. From their inception they have tried to provide service, help, and publicity for Stockton's literary community.

Stockton's literary community sounds weighty. It's composed of faculty colleagues and students -- and anyone else interested in literature. My personal definition of literature isn't very highbrow. I find it in a wide range of texts. The mysteries of Ellis Peters are literature, so are the sermons of Tillotson, so are student essays.

These pages also help me to sort through the web, help me to think about ways the internet affects writing, textuality, and literature. Most of my links and pages deal with these issues.

The side images for these pages are reworked photos of the cedar bog on campus. If you've never been there, follow the path that runs west of parking lot 7, near the cement embankment. It's a great spot.
